The annual Whale Conference will be held in the hall of the Whale Museum tomorrow, Tuesday at 20.
The conference was first held in the summer of 2014. The aim of the conference is, among other things, to present the research that is and has been carried out in Skjálfandaflói and to strengthen the relationship between whale watching companies, the Whale Museum, the Research Center of the University of Iceland and scientists. Through this kind of cooperation and dialogue, the whale watching companies and the Whale Museum can share the latest information and increase the quality of the area as one of the best areas in the country to see and learn about whales.
Over the years, research has been carried out in the bay and the results have not always been reflected in the tires of the companies, therefore the Whale Museum and the Research Center of the University of Iceland offer this platform to share information, learn and ask questions, but such a platform is also useful as part of the training of new guides and the retraining of older guides, where interesting information is revealed and discussions could be created.
The conference starts at 20 and admission is free. Note that the lectures are delivered in English.
