The Whale Museum has started selling a new product from Husvísk designer Sigurjón Pálsson in its souvenir shop. It is a black whale. Sigurjón is best known for his birds, which for example can be found in the center of Húsavík in a large version. The birds in the traditional size are also for sale at our museum. Sigurjón's new whale fits perfectly in the museum's souvenir shop.On the website of Epal, which distributes the product, you can find the following text about whales:
"On ancient maps, the rich sea around Iceland is often shown full of spewing creatures. Even today, these animals have a magical glow of adventure about them that has drawn millions of people to Iceland. You can get up close and personal with whales in many places around the country. We sail from places that are closest to the main whale tracks, where you can admire these gentle giants of the sea rolling on the surface a few meters away".
We remind you that the Whale Museum's shop is open every day in October from 10 am to 16 pm during the museum's opening hours. As of November 1 and throughout the winter, we will be open every weekday from 10 a.m. to 16 p.m.
