The film festival Ocean Films Húsavík is off to a good start

The film festival Ocean Films Húsavík is half way through and has never been as big and eventful as it is now. The festival is held for the fourth time this year and is organized by Whale Wise in collaboration with the Whale Museum.

The first two days took place in the Whale Museum in Húsavík, where seven films were screened. The film that is my favorite after the first two days is Ocean Seen from the Heart which is a documentary by Iolande Cadrin-Rossignol and Marie-Dominique Michaud. The film deals with the state of the sea and the human impact on biodiversity and its temperature. Hubert Reeves leads the audience along with scientists and explorers, demonstrating the rehabilitative nature of the ocean and the importance of protecting it. Ocean Seen from the Heart, along with many of the films on the festival's schedule, is available at Ocean Films Húsavík's Vimeo page.

The festival continues for the next two days Húsavík Theater and admission is free. Visitors are free to visit the festival as they see fit. Those who want to support the festival can do so by buying popcorn and soda at the theater convenience store. The program for July 19 and 20 is varied and auspicious, it can be found below.

You are most welcome to enjoy this movie party with us at the theater in Húsavík!
