Eva Björk Káradóttir appointed as the director of the Whale Museum

The Board of the Whale Museum in Húsavík has appointed Eva Björk Káradóttir as the museum's manager as of September 1st. She takes over the job from Valdimar Halldórsson, who is retiring at the end of the week. A total of seven applications were received for the position. Eva has an MA degree in cultural management and in recent years has worked in retail and event management, along with tourism. Eva, who grew up in Neskaupsstaður, recently moved to Húsavík with her husband.

As soon as the board welcomes Eva to work at the Whale Museum, she thanks the other applicants for the position of manager for their interest. The board also thanks the outgoing director for a job well done in the interest of the museum and wishes him well in his new position.
