Official opening of the blue whale exhibition

The International Museum Day 2016 was celebrated in the museum on Wednesday the 18th of May. The museum took advantage of the opportunity and officially opened the new blue whale exhibition. About 40 invited guests participated and listened to speeches by Sif Jóhannesdóttir from the museum board, Guðmundur Guðmundsson from the Icelandic Institute of Natural History and the Minister of Education, Science and Culture Illugi Gunnarsson. In brief everyone present was very pleased with the exhibition and hopefully it will bring prosperity to the museum.
