From September 20–22, 2025, the Húsavík Whale Museum will host a film festival in collaboration with Ocean Missions og Plastic Oceans InternationalThe festival is part of a global initiative that connects forests and seas to raise awareness about environmental issues and promote community engagement.
The program features a diverse selection of films focused on ocean conservation, nature, community-driven solutions, and the human connection to the environment. After each screening, there will be a community discussion, giving attendees the opportunity to reflect on the films and share their own ideas and experiences. Light refreshments will be served, and admission is free.
